Pembridge Road
Life-changing support for adults with learning difficulties and mental health conditions.
Type of property
Pembridge House provides the perfect mix of independent living and staff support - living in a shared building means individuals can benefit from a communal atmosphere while having peace and quiet whenever they need it too. The property has three one-bedroom apartments, and one additional bedroom. Each flat is self-contained and includes a wet room style ensuite, a kitchen, a lounge area, a dining room and a laundry room. There is also a shared lounge and a sensory room. The shared garden is accessible and has a patio, BBQ, swing and in-ground trampoline.
Valued in your community
At Pembridge Road, we’re fortunate to be located just a short walk from a range of vibrant shops, parks, cafes and pubs. Longton Park is ideal for walking when the weather is good. A short bus journey will take you to Stoke-on-Trent or Hanley, where you’ll find larger banks and attractions including a choice of leisure centres, Waterworld swimming pool, Etruria Industrial Museum, Festival Retail Park and intu Potteries for shopping, Regent Theatre, the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Tenpin Stoke bowling, an Odeon Cinema and a Cineworld. People also enjoy trips to the coast or Alton Towers, karaoke, bingo, and going for pub lunches in the local area.
Living at this service
Pembridge Road is the perfect property for an able-bodied woman with non-complex needs. The current residents enjoy their own space and occupy themselves with their personal activities - routines are very important here, so someone with a similar outlook would be welcome. There are currently three residents at Pembridge House - two women in their 30s, and one man aged 19. They all have learning disabilities. Both women have autism, and one is also bipolar. Their interests include cooking and going out for food, going to the cinema, being in the community, sports, shopping, listening to music and watching television. The young man goes to college in the week, and likes to spend time by himself. Everyone looks forward to Friday, as it’s takeaway night.
“Pembridge Road provides a person-centred service to the people we care for. Staff work really hard to tailor their care to the needs of every person. We feel that supporting people one-on-one helps them to grow, not only with their independence but with their confidence too.” Manager, Pembridge Road
