Orphanage Road is a two-bed detached bungalow where people are supported to live independently. There’s level access to the property, which has a kitchen and open-plan living and dining room. One of the rooms has an ensuite wet room style shower room, and there is also a shared wet room style bathroom. The garden is accessible and has a patio and a BBQ for people to use when the weather is good.

At Orphanage Road, we’re fortunate to be located close to a range of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. For people who like to stay active, Erdington Leisure Centre provides year-round access to leisure facilities including swimming. Nearby Birmingham provides access to larger amenities, including the Thinktank Science Museum, the Bullring Shopping Centre, O2 Academy, Sealife Centre, and a number of theatres, art galleries and libraries. People at Orphanage Road choose how they spend their time - our activities and outings are agreed in collaboration. Regular trips to Weston Super Mare, York, Liverpool and Bridlington are firm favourites. We have even organised a trip abroad on a cruise ship.

Orphanage Road is well suited to a man with a calm manner. The current resident is a non-verbal man in his 70s, with learning difficulties. He enjoys doing puzzles, spending time in his room, playing on his iPad, listening to music, cooking, walking, swimming, being in the community, going to the cinema and visiting the Ebrook Centre.
