Valued in your community
People living at Hunts Croft enjoy playing music, socialising with each other, watching TV, colouring books and being in the local community. The Lifeways team provide positive behavioural support in an enabling environment, listening to what each person wants and the life they would like to live, embracing collaboration and co-production to create positive outcomes. Favourite destinations for trips out include Uttoxeter for shopping, browsing in the charity shops and enjoying lunch out, Skegness and Blackpool, visiting the Royal Air Force Museum and regular swimming sessions at the nearby leisure centre. On a Thursday, a personal trainer visits and in summer, BBQs, swing ball and the paddling pool are popular.
Living at this service
Hunts Croft is an ideal home for a man aged over 30, who enjoys listening to music. Three men aged between 47 and 56 who live with learning difficulties, epilepsy and diabetes have lived there for several years. One collects CD players, radios and old records. Another man, a friendly individual who is non-verbal, enjoys planes, trains and automobiles and another enjoys music boxes, sensory toys and watching television.
“Hunts Croft is a home with a wonderful atmosphere, there is always something going on. It’s a colourful place where we encourage people to develop their own personality and get the most out of life.” Joanna Russell, Service Manager, Hunts Croft
