Living at this service
We are ready to welcome a sociable person who enjoys spending time with others, and is aged over 50 years old. The men we support here are aged between 59 and 65 and live with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and epilepsy. One of the men likes listening to music and relaxing in the house. He needs a routine and enjoys going to the shop to buy the paper, which the staff read to him. The other man here often goes into town or out for lunch. He loves garden activities, walking and being sociable. At Blackburn Road, people choose how they spend their time. People’s hobbies include listening to music, watching television, swimming, walking, shopping, cooking, socialising and being in the community. Trips to tourist attractions, Blackpool, Southport and the coast are favourites.
"Blackburn Road is in a busy and social community with great access to Bolton. There are many amenities within a five-minute walk. The long-term staff focus on bringing independence to all of the people we support. The staff will encourage everyone to become more social and enjoy whatever activities people want to do.” Manager, Blackburn Road
